"This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affectations glow and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at any moment we may see the unicorn."

"Animal Wednesday"

Ah, sadly, I no longer can "truly" participate in "Animal Wednesdays".... Bofie, the beautiful, sweet, Love of my life, is no longer mine. He lives, yes, but, like a cruel divorce settlement, is with his "Father" in New York - and not with me, in California. Yet, I love him so much.... like the son I never had. I know all of you who have animals (even if you have children) will understand.
Bofie's "Father" and I split up last year.... I miss Bofie so much..... but, for seven years, he was a big part of my life..... we spent so many happy hours together - in New York, in Santa Fe, in San Francisco - and I am sharing with you, my Blogging Family. Bofie, I love you and miss you - and hope you dream of me and all the runs we did together.
Love, Love, always,
Your "Mom",
Robin

Farewell to Tut

Today was the final day of the "King Tut" Exhibit at the de Young Museum. It was sold out and really was an "insane day". In honour of the "Boy King's" stay in San Francisco, I am sharing a little bit of "Egyptian Opera", courtesy of Giuseppi Verdi (an Italian). He wrote "Aida" to commemorate the opening of the Suez Canal. Even if you are not an Opera lover - I am sure you will recognise this music. Enjoy ♥ Robin

A Special Day

Today marks the 54th Birthday of a remarkable woman - Renee Khan. I believe most of you who venture by my blog knew her - or knew of her. She is (and I will not use past tense) the embodiment of warmth, strength, grace and love....
It is symbolically apt that she was born close to Easter and to Springtime - seasons of renewal and rebirth.
Her spirit continues to soar above us - looking after us all - sending us courage to perservere, to LIVE and most importantly - to LOVE.
Renee, we miss you so much - but now look for you in everything wonderful and beautiful.
And, as you can see, I did finally begin my blog. Thank you for your encouragement.
Happy Birthday, dear Renee.
Love,
♥ Robin ♥

Turn, Turn, Turn

"To every thing there is a season"..... hmmm..I think "Mother Nature" has decided to keep us all guessing for a while. After a lovely, warm week - flowers a bloom, birds singing.... Winter has returned for an encore performance (brief, I hope)! There is, however, great beauty to be found in every season. Caught the sun peeking through the storm clouds this morning...
Soon Spring will decide to stay a while! Enjoy your day everyone!
Love,
♥ Robin ♥

'Intruder '

Not the Raven, but me!
I was hiking through the Presidio, enjoying the day, when I came across this big fellow, sitting atop a little wooden bridge, surveying his "kingdom"....he was NOT happy to see me and caw-caw-cawed his displeasure - but stayed still long enough for me to snap this with my cell phone. I am afraid my phone camera did not do him justice. Still, I know there are several other Raven-lovers out there, besides myself.... so I hope you enjoy the shot.
Love to all,
♥ Robin ♥

Spring Morning at the de Young

I promise this will not be an all trees/flowers blog....but I had to photograph these beauties! I am a volunteer at San Francisco's de Young Museum and this morning, discovered these just outside the main entrance to the museum. Does anyone know what they are called?
I l♥ve them!

Hugs to all,

First Day of Spring

I am enjoying the first day of Spring! It is a good time to begin my blog and post my first entry. This past Winter, and in fact, this past year, have been difficult for me and for many of those I care about, but now, with the sun shining and the cherry blossom trees blooming, I feel some warmth returning to my heart.
This lovely tree resides in my neighbour's back yard. My yard and all the back stairs are covered with the pretty petals. Every time I look at it, I am uplifted....
♥ Sending love to all. ♥
