Visions of Spring

We have had a stunningly gorgeous week of weather in the "City by the Bay"!  Sunshine - no wind - 80 (yes, 80!) degrees...  Ah, sigh....  today, it is only 60.....but the sun still shines....the air is sweet with budding trees and flowers...and yes, "my" Mockingbird is back!  (Photo from last year.)  He is re-introducing me to ALL of his "arias" - he has hundreds!  And although he likes to begin at 3:00 a.m. - (right outside my bedroom window)....I don't mind at all.  After such a long, cold, wet Winter....his voice sparkles with joy!

For those of you still in snow-melty climes, Spring will arrive soon!  Those darn Groundhogs definitely were wrong this year....but soon, you, too will rejoice in this season of re-birth!  Plus.....it's Baseball Season!  (Woo-Hoo!)

Last....here is a special "Robin" bag.... a dear friend created this for me - complete with hand-drawn notes!

I send loving ♥♥♥♥'s to all....  here's to healing world-round...  to renewal of Spring, of Life, of Love!

♥ Robin ♥

  6. Hi Robin. Baseball to me is a totally mysterious game. My mother tells me I played it with some gusto in the Pee Wee league as a child in Canada but my memory refuses to engage with me on that one. I do however adore cricket. It is so quintessentially english and I love the quirkiness of the rules. How can anyone not love a game that takes fully 5 days to play ... and quite often has no result at the end of all that palava?

I'm glad the weather has perked up there. It is going to be in the high 60's later on this week here (with any luck). No mockingbirds but we've seen our old friend the green woodpecker a few days ago. Quite a racket he makes but thankfully not at 3am!

Many hugs from here. xx Jos

  13. Jos, you made me smile....I LOVE Cricket....was there ever such an "Alice in Wonderland" type of game? I remember seeing all the guys in their whites.... playing for DAYS....love the terminology...."centuries' etc. what a game! Baseball - though not as long-winded - is just as poetically beautiful and actually more graceful to me....rather like combining ballet and chess! (Don't laugh - I mean it!)

You have a Green Woodpecker? Ah, I am jealous....how wonderful!!!!! The FIRST Woodpecker I ever saw was in the Bavarian Alps...hiking and I kept hearing this "hammering" noise....I was actually upset "someone" was out there making these destructive sounds.....finally, I came upon Herr Woodpecker... I was so enchanted, I sat down below the tree..and he generously did NOT fly away..but kept on with his "work"!

    Sending you many, many HUGS!

    Love,

    ♥ Robin ♥

  14. Amanda, OF COURSE you had a Mockingbird come to serenade you and your Family! Aren't they wonderful! I have often tried to count all of his arias....but his repertoire is HUGE!

Looking forward to more Argentenian Adventures!!!

  15. Slowly I am making my rounds and leaving tiny handfuls of words but a big handful of love seeds to feed all the birds in my heart. Here the weather is as always, neurotic. Today is sunny but in the upper fifties. Tomorrow and until Saturday, rain. We had the longest rainy month on record. Twenty eight days! this is going to sound crazy, but I am glad I was nearly unconscious for most of it. I would have ended raving mad if I could felt my gardening self awakening every day to gray and water!

Love to you my darling, and thank you for the loving notes that I have been of great comfort to me.

  16. our friend the baseball nut. I love the image, I really do.
Glad you are getting spring - we are...sort of...maybe thinking about spring. Someday soon. 80 degree weather would take care of this cold for me - that's for sure.
have a lovely spring day ms robin and the package is in the mail today.

  17. Dear Allegra,

See you come visit is like Spring! Ah, I really think je comprehend your statement about "being unconscious" during the storms!
We have a blessed week...but today, 30 degres colder - with a forceful wind! Brrrrrrr and arrghhh! Enough!!!!

Let's hope it will only a few more days of this....time to your garden to grow!!!

I think of you and Barry every day - sending love and healing prayers.

    Love,

    ♥ Robin ♥

  18. Yes, Mim....I am a real "jock" when it comes to Baseball!!! Arguing Umpire calls with the best of 'em! Ha-ha!

I am hoping the gorgeous weather we HAD is coming your way now....tome for your "Narnia" backyard to dissolve! Much colder here now....(sigh)..time to don the turtenck and boots again! But, when that certain "something" arrives, it will bring warmth and a glow to my home and my heart!

    Love,

    ♥ Robin ♥

  20. Mockingbirds are so friendly. As far as I can tell, my bird population stays fairly stable throughout the year.
