There were many Duck-Couples basking in the Sun....they know Spring is coming too!
Mr. Goose.... a bit miffed becase he *posed* for me - but I didn't bring any food!
There are many, many Turtles who live here! (Yes, I know, I have been posting countless Turtle Shots...but they are so adorable when they are perched on a rock, reveling in sunshine!)
Look closely to the right of the Gull/Duck - and you will see a *stealthy-submarine-like* group of Turtles approaching - ensemble!
"Ah, Life is warm and good....hey, you in front, move up a bit....I'm about to fall in!"
I encountered this odd looking fellow... He is quite large - though not as large as a Goose. His face (not his best feature) has a red, mottled texture....but his feathers, oh my...they are as blue-black as Lo could paint them! He was all alone....the only one of his species at the Lake. Does anyone know what he is? I could only take two photos of him - then he had enough, and jumped into the water and swam away!
Love,
♥ Robin ♥
I enjoyed the photos, Robin. It's springlike here too.
ReplyDeleteHi Snow! I am happy you like my photos....I wish I could take more challenging hikes...but with this darn knee, I can't. One day though....

DeleteYes, the Pagoda is lovely - it has stood the test of time....it was fun to see all the *Critters* enjoying the sunshine! That little fuzzy duckling was so sweet! See Allegra's comment below....I think she may be right about the mysterious Blue/Black duck with the red mask!
Love,

Oh what a fun walk. I LOVE that pagoda thing you took. is that a place to sit in? What a painting that would make. I have seen ducks like that one with the red on him here too. Strange looking. Lots of fun pix. We too see lots of duck butts here.. diving for food. :)) I just took some not to long ago. Thanks for taking us along on your walk. I wanna go sit in the pagoda.

duckies! toytoys! oh my!
ReplyDeleteHello darling, what a nice set of photos and btw, I think the black bird with the makeup looks a lot like a Moorhen but I am not sure.
I too love the Pagoda, but I guess you already knew that, right? Love the walk and I love you. Take care darling, and don't overdo it with the knee, please.
Oh Clever Allegra.....I think yo ARE right - The *Masked Duck* IS a Moorhen!!! BRAVA!
DeleteI thought of you too when I saw the Pagoda.... it belongs in your garden!
I am home resting today....because it's raining! Hope you are resting too...with the Fur-Kids next to you!

ReplyDeletegosh - how did I miss this wonderful post! I love those turtle shot and the duck butt is my favorite. It looks so beautiful out there, all spring is coming gorgeous and we're not there yet.
ReplyDeleteAnyway - lovely photos from my Stow to your Stow lake
Hello Mim and all.... my friend Carol just did some *research* on the mysterious, *masked Duck*.....and....he really is a Muscovy Duck! They originated in South America..but gradually have been *winging* their way North! They are actually closer to a *Goose* than a *Duck*! Mystery solved!!!! Love to all, ♥ Robin ♥
DeleteWe call those Kaapse eenden, which mean ducks from the cape (town?) They are Muscovy Ducks in English. To be honest, they are not my favorites..... :( I think their heads are awful....
ReplyDeleteBut how nice you see so many animals and also enjoying good weather!
Here it snowed again today.....no that means chaotic traffic tomorrow.........:(
Saw a red robin this morning :) and we had a wood pigeon and a Turkish doves.
I am busy packing ironing for tomorrow.
Have a nice day dear!
