Bluebirds, Butterflies, Bison and..... Potpourri

As I write this on a damp Tuesday Morning, the Storm Clouds are gathering out over the Pacific....  we had rain last night and there is more on the way.  Sunday and Monday though, were cold but Sunny....and I was out and about with my trusty Canon...

Storm Clouds on the Horizon

Glorious Spring Colours....

The *Palace Swans*

*Feed Us*!  (Look at those Amber Eyes!)

He was kind enough to stay long enough for me to take a few shots!

Mr. Muscovy - Cris - just for you in Oregon!

Mr. Bison takes a rest...

*Buffalo Butts*!

The End......a-ha-ha!

  1. thank you for the lovely animal tour of SF. the reflections in the palace swans photo are beautiful. and the touches of pink in the top photo. all really but those two and the second photo also, the pinks. far far from that here.

  2. Ah, but Suki, these photos were from yesterday and Sunday..today, it's storming, wind howling.... don't even want to try to capture it from my roof. I know Spring seems far away up on your Mountain....but, it will come... it's good you are busy with remodeling both houses and preparing for Spring. This year, you will experience a true re-birth....

  3. Where are those buffalo?? When Bri and I were heading out to CA from here we'd shout "BISON!!" at every heard of anything we saw. It was hilarious! We did it on the way back as well.

The swans look like they're swimming in gold. Wow. Beautiful.

I love Mr. Scrub Jay pretending to be a Bluebird :)

All the photos are pretty and surely signs of Spring. None of those signs are here yet, trust me!

    1. Lololo....... the Bison are in the Western-most part of the park...close to North Lake. (Where the Raccoons live.)

I was lucky to pass by as they were up close...often, they are far down their pasture. Don't you love them? I laughed to imagine you and Bri shouting *Bison* as you drove across the country!

Swans are doing well...but Blueboy (the papa) is not very happy with the two remaining Cygnets...I fear one or both may be males...

I know Spring is a faint dream for you now....but...it's coming....really!!! Blowing Cherry Blossom Petals to you.....

  4. I read Bluebirds, Butterflies and Bison and said WHAT? Bison?? Yes where are they?
Love the swan pix and the Artists painting. Did you get any of what they were painting? Oh and I love the Muscovy duck. They really are a domestic duck, Our neighbors Muscovy's never did get quite so thick with red around the face like this one. You are getting the storm and not us, but we will be getting one in a day or so here. Our nice warm sunny lull is about over.. boo hoo. :)

    1. Cris, the Artists were painting the front section of the Palace of FIne Arts....it's a beautiful building, surrounded by the lake... I keep meaning to do a post on it.... but always get distracted with the Swans, Herons, Egrets....soon, I promise!

This Muscovy lives (with four others) in one of the GG lakes... he was a character - not camera-shy at all!

The storm left us yesterday...but oh...is is cold (for West Coast People).... snow on Mt. Tam and Mt. Diable yesterday!

Hope the Sun returns to you soon!

  8. Wow, despite your fog, it really looks like spring there. Love the colors. Your animals and birds and butterflies and , well okay, buffalo butts are wonderful.
The painters are intriguing and I want to go sit with them and paint.
