"This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affectations glow and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at any moment we may see the unicorn."

April..the Cruelest Month? Yes.....and No!

First Stow Lake Goslings of 2014!

April began with Storms, with my overwhelming mountain (think Everest) pile of medical bills, with my job and long/dangerous commute...none of this helped my body to continue healing...STRESS, as some of you know, is a killer...

But, by month's end, my job had ended too. A few of the good things I will miss there (besides the paycheck) are:  Fay Wray, the Standard Poodle...

And Gracie...the Golden Retriever...

Then, a few days ago, after many many, MANY calls and filled out forms, I received my Medical card....Hallelujah!   This won't pay all my medical bills, but it will bring the total down a lot... I can feel my blood pressure lowering and my burns healing...

California Poppies a bloom!

A little bit of HOPE, of light at the end of the tunnel!

Mr. Red-Winged Blackbird struts his stuff as he *serenades* his lady!

Spring has totally arrived....  for how long, I don't know..(the *Mini-Winter* can't be too far away), but in the meantime. I am reveling in it...

Mr. Crow visiting the Moon Pool at the Arboretum!

Moon Pool Reflections.....

Mr. Snout-Nosed Turtle II...  there have always been two of them, but for a year #2 wasn't around until today!

Here's #1..

So, I leave you at April's end, with 75 degree temps... feeling a lot different than I did at the beginning of the month....but now, I have HOPE...and one needs that to go on with Life.

For those of you who have sent prayers....I thank you and count myself blessed to have such loving friends!

♥ Robin ♥

  1. Robin, can you hear me cheer at your good news? I'm so glad you have your medical card and things are looking better for you. And the blooms and ducks and turtles are cheering too. thanks for the tour. 75 degrees. zowie. perfect.

    1. Suki, I was amazed to find someone had read my blog! Yes...I hear your cheering...and I hug you for it! I am exhaling a bit more now...and trying to remember how to LIVE...(happy someone listened to my Voki....I continue to do this in honour of Vickie, from Australia, who taught me to do this)... Typical SF Spring, 75 degrees rose to 90 two days ago...and now, Fog is back and we are at 50... sigh...

You are the ONLY person I know who read the Alexandria Quartet.....one of the gazillion reasons I love you... My *Professor*, Chris, told me I would love it...and I did!

Now, re-reading one of my *Life-Changing* Books, *The Magus*... loved it at 20.... still loving, but gaining MORE from it at 50..

      Love you, always,

      ♥ Robin ♥

  2. I loved the Alexandria Quartet when I read it many years ago. And your Voki was cute!

  3. Supposed to be 90 in LA tomorrow and 80 here in Oregon, so does that mean you forecast is somewhere in the middle.

I'm glad you're doing better, and I very much enjoyed the pretty photos.

    1. SNOW... every time you visit, I smile... Vicki smiles too... extraordinary how people meet and become friends!

Your weather will still be warm (I hope)...we had a few days of 90 degrees..and now back to 56!

I AM doing better, my dear friend, hope you are too....I think of you often with love and pr--y--a--s!

  4. I am so envious of your Spring! If we have one here in the desert, it is pretty short. Robin, things have got to get easier soon!
