These first two were taken from gardens enroute to the de Young.
"Rent-a-Bike".... for those who want to cycle through Golden Gate Park.
The fountain next to the de Young...for those of you who read my blog, this is where the 13 ducklings were born last month. They are all gone now..to Stow Lake, nearby, but much roomier for ducklings and their parents.
Okay - I know there is nothing but GREEN here.....but, if you look closely, here are at least four shades of green....
A garden enroute home....a beautiful symphony of white, lavender and a few golden poppies - just beginning to bloom.
Last, but certainly not least, my "Cousin", the Robin, adding a bright spot of colour!
I hope you enjoyed my little journey of Colour on a cold, grey San Francisco day.
Danke vielmals Britt, fur die Idee!
Love,
♥ Robin ♥
this is so funny as I read Britt-Arnhild's blog too and found that color post today. Adn on my walk took a few photos w/colors in mind. Lovely walk to the DeYoung!! Thank you. And I'd love to see that art show. I'm sure you heard about the 5 paintings stolen the other day from the Paris Modern museum. !!!
ReplyDeleteEsp love the first photo. the pink and red.
The soft light makes your photographs look like impressionist paintings, too. Beautiful, LilacRobin! Looking forward to reading more about the exhibit(s), too,
ReplyDeletexo, Dustin (with Trixie whispering a greeting into my ear for you)
Thank you for taking us with you. I miss the De Young so much, it was always my favorite museum in SF. I really love that first photo.
ReplyDeletexoxo
you found lovely colors, even in shady grey SF
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful colors, and lovely settings. I love the picture of the bikes, too. They look like old friends, waiting for someone. :) Have a fabulous weekend! xox - Pam
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Robin. A link is posted in Britt-Arnhild's House in the Woods.
ReplyDeleteI'm so envious of your trip to the exhibit! And what a lovely springy excursion, too!
ReplyDeleteOh Robin, I'd love to see that exhibit!
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is amazing. It makes me want to step inside. One thing I remember about living in the land of fog is that colors really pop on those grey days!
Beautiful shots. Do you know I never saw a single robin in my 16 years there? I didn't think they were there!
There are real fat ones in abundance here ;)
have a lovely weekend...
love,
Lo ♥
Suki, so funny we both were inspired by Britt!
ReplyDeleteI have really enjoyed her blog.... loved her recent trip to Italia! You WOULD ADORE the Impressionistic Art.....I am working there tomorrow and will do a post on it.

" T et D", Bon Jour, mes amies....
ReplyDeleteYou MUST come and see the D'Orsay art..... breathtaking is an understatement.
♥♥♥ Robin
Anne, you really would love the de Young - it has changed very much since you were last here.. and this particular exhibit, though not what the de Young usually shows (more suited to the Legion of Honour),is exsquisite... one never knows, you may have the chance to see it - either here or when it returns to Paris!
ReplyDeleteLove,
♥ Robin ♥
Jim, welcome and thank you for your kind words.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you came along on my walk!

Lo, I KNOW I don't have to do much describing to you....you have felt and seen all of the West Coasts' odd and ever-changing weather.
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled you and Suki liked that first photo.... I was really enchanted with the colors....like entering a Fairy Tale...
And....hey - perhaps the "Pacific Grove Robins" were hiding.... I have always seen the SF Ones.... perhaps beacause I was named for them.... (My Mum adored their voices and their colouring.) Do you know, in England, they are considered "Winter Birds"... and are slightly larger than the USA ones.
My favourite Robin is the beautiful painting you did for me!!!!!
A detailed Impressionist post coming soon...I am working there tomorrow.
Hope you are feeling better each day and enjoying your first Rhode Island Spring!
Love, Love,
♥ Robin ♥
Hello my darling Robin, I am walking around on my very own two intellectual legs, and of course I am coming here to say hello, thank you for all your lovely comments that helped so much during the trial and tribulations of the past weeks, and how lovely it is to have you as a friend. How grateful I am to share time with you and how I wish to go to the exhibit with you and then go out for a drink at Presidio walking the old gardens if they still there. It has been so long...sigh.
ReplyDeleteI love your post about colors. I couldn't decided which one was my favorite shot since they are all quite lovely so I will say that they all are. I am happy to be able to read and see the photos. As I told another blogging friend, it is nice to have things read to you when you want to, but when you have no chance to do it yourself it is such a different experience that one cannot imagine how it is different until experiencing it.
Much love and I am so glad to be back visiting, as I hope you are to have me here.
Allegra, I JUST posted on your blog... and was drying my eyes (because I was so HAPPY to see you posting, I started crying)... when I came to look at my "bloglette" - and here is a comment from you. Yes, more tears.... but happy ones!
ReplyDeleteI would give anything for you to be here for this amazing D'Orsay exhibit... and yes, many of the Presidio Gardens are still here and lovely as always.... a lot of reforsting has ben going on, but thankfully, much has remained unaltered. Would that we could walk the paths together....
I am a pretty imaginative girl - and I think I understand what you mean about the difference between having things READ to you as opposed to reading them with your own eyes...but....oh wise one, you are right - until it really happens, one never really comprehends.
I AM SO HAPPY YOU ARE VISITING AGAIN! (And that is an understatement...) Missed you so much. Thank you for coming to my blog......
Love,
♥ Robin ♥
great photos... i especially loved the first one... not just because of the colors but also for the compositon... perfect!
