"This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affectations glow and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at any moment we may see the unicorn."

A Tribute to B

Many of you know that yesterday, our beloved Annie made one of the most difficult decisions of her life.....she let Mr. B's spirit soar free. He was one of the SPECIAL Ones.... sweet, comic, full of kitty idiosyncrasies...... one of which was - curling up in the sink!

He loved going outside (with his Brother, Spike), his "Step-brother", Max, and Zeus...his doggie "Cousin".

He was afraid of thunder and whenever he heard it - be it in the distance or close by, he would run for "cover"....be it a closet, a cupboard... Once, when visiting Ann and the Boys in Taos, I was in the middle of a bath....the storm began, B ran into the bathroom, stared at me....then stared at the cupboard where Anne keeps toiletries and other supplies, stared at me again, clearly saying: "Stupid Girl! Get out of that tub and open my sanctuary at once"! I did....

Here they are....the "Tuxedo Twins"....B (on the left) and Spike (on the right). Beautiful cats, full of spirit.

Annie, you were the very best Mum to B....he knew it. Spike, Zeus and Max know it too. And so do your Blogging Family.
B, I miss you and will keep you in my heart forever.
Robin

  2. Thank you sweetie. I was so out of it when I did my B post I did not list all his wonderful
habits! Like what a cream and cheese hound he was, just like his mum :-). The last year he had dropped many of his fears and one was of thunder. I love that you have photos of him when he was big! Love you and hugs.xoxo

  4. Wow, I'm so sorry.

If a pet lives 14 years, and we live 75 years, that adds up to a lot of goodbyes. We see entire generations come and go before it is our own time to depart. I just wish that all of us could die as comfortably as the deaths that we try to provide for our beloved pets.

  5. Oh, how heartbreaking. I know it's very hard to let go a pet one has loved for years. Sigh. Your tribute is very moving.

  6. That's a beautiful tribute from his Auntie ♥

We're never, ever ready to say goodbye, but bless the ones who unselfishly know when to.

    Run free, Mister B. xoxo♥

  10. Suki, you know, all too well, what Annie is going through... it is the ONLY downside to having a pet...but as time passes, only the memories of happiness and love will stay on.

    Love to you and Bibs,

    ♥ Robin ♥

  11. Ah, Snow.....I am happy to have you visit me.
You, too, know what this post is all about.... it is so hard to lose a "Furry One" who has given nothing but honesty and love.

I keep you, your wife and Baxter in my thoughts and (sorry) prayers.... that's just me.

    I care.

    Hugs,

    ♥ Robin ♥
