Blue Angels

If it's early October in San Francisco, it's FLEET WEEK....and that means the Navy's Blue Angels are soaring and roaring across the city and over my house!  It's LOUD, it's not fun for animals, my home shakes, rattles and rolls, but it still amazes me to watch these skilled pilots fly up and down and over and under at speeds just under the sound barrier.

I captured these shots as they *rehearsed* yesterday.

There are six planes in total....but they fly most of the time in fours..with the other two zooming off in opposite directions.  I don't know if you can *embiggen* these....

No "Angels" in this shot....but this is the Golden Gate Bridge from my roof..... the "Angels" do fly over the Bridge, but even using a zoom on my little camera, you wouldn't have seen them.

As you can tell, it was a glorious, sunny day....  lovely October!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

  1. Wow, You have a pretty good view of the Golden Gate Bridge from your place. Cool. Reading this took me back 8 years ago when I went there with my Dad drving back from Checking out Oregon to live in. I was disappointed in not getting to see more of SF because it was fleet week & very crowded. It was my last visit to anywhere with my Dad as he died a little over two weeks later, so its something I will treasure forever. What a flash back.

You must feel blessed that he was there with you in Oregon as you found your new home too....

Sending you, Con, Annie and Daisy many hugs from a FOGGY SF this morning.... hope it clears, or the lue Angels will not be able to make their final 2011 performance.

  10. Dear *Twin*, I can see the Bridge...of course, I have to climb up to the roof in order to do so....

NE weather was fantastic - except foe one stormy day.... sadly, the leaves were only just beginning to turn...so I only saw a bit of colour....

Mais Oui, Mon Cher... I already have FIVE dates (thought I would add another man to my *posse*) posted on my sidebar! But,if there isn't anyone you would like to dance a waltz or tango with, I trust your taste completely....and will happily share the arm of whoever with you! Oooooh...we will have a wonderful time!

  13. i thought i'd comment on the blue angels but instead all i can think of is your dates to the ball. ah the thrill of virtual reality! imagine if it could be so: if time travel would allow you to attend just so.....

  14. Hi Robin! WOW! What amazing pics! You could sell tickets to your rooftop, I'm thinking. :) The ball sounds like a very magical thing, and I hope you remember to keep track of the time, just in case you are arriving in a pumpkin coach (which seems very Halloweenie to me!). Here's to our time of the year!! xox Pam
