"This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affectations glow and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at any moment we may see the unicorn."

Chasing the Fog on Animal Wednesday

I decided to *confront* the Fog....and went out to see if I could find anyone for my Animal Wednesday Post! So, I put on my *Summer Clothes* - turtleneck, heavy jacket and a hat and off I went - heading West.

I had only walked a few blocks - when I met some Ravens.
Hi Lo!  CAW!  CAW!

And right there, above them......the first wisps of FOG!

This little Finch was scrambling to find something to keep his tummy warm because he lives only a few feet from.....

Can't tell what this is?  Really?  A-ha-ha!  It's the Pacific Ocean.....I am high atop a cliff overlooking the water....  I'll come back on a sunny day and
re-shoot for you so you can compare.

Leaving you with a lovely version of *A Foggy Day* by the great George Gershwin.  (I know, the lyrics are about London.....but hey, this could have been written for SF too!)

You know I don't JUST listen to Opera!   ;)

HAW from foggy SF!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

That ocean fog is so mysterious.

    1. Teri...as Mark Twain once said, "The Coldest Winter I ever spent was a Summer in San Francisco".... it was true then - and alas, still is! I agree, the Ocean fog IS mysterious....but when you live surrounded in greyness for WEEKS...it can be suffocating....

  4. A foggy day. A good day to read Donna Leon, who I too like. I have a CD set of About Face one of her mysteries. I listen to books on tape to try to get back to sleep at night when I wake up.

The moon was almost full for my brother's dying.

    1. Suki....I guessed you might have read Donna Leon! I am making my way through it - love visualising Venice - in all it's mystery.

I thought about the Moon when your Brother died....
