Gorgeous Sunsets.... un-retouched colours...
The day I arrived, there was a huge wildfire burning quite close to us.... thankfully, the Firefighters were able to put it out in 2 days....
Some views of the house Chris has for the Summer while he works at Santa Fe Opera..
The lovely Gazebo where we sometimes stayed home and cooked....Chris is an excellent Chef!
Rainbow Trout, White Beans with Arugula and a wonderful Gewurztraminer..
*Backyard Wildlife*
Lots of Lizards.....I took a video of this little one busily digging a hole.....I'd never seen one do this before....don't you love how he stops, looks up at me - then decides to continue digging?
Here's one of Mr. GIGANTIC Beetle out for his Morning Stroll!
Downtown Santa Fe Scenes
Inside St. Francis Cathederal
Agnus Dei... (the Lamb of God).....those of you who know my last name get this...
Taken especially for Anne and Pam... you both NEED these boots!
I had many candles burnt for all of you.....
Besides many days of glorious 95 degree days - I had a few Thunderstorms! Lightning, Thunder..oh my..
And....of course, I followed La Bella Luna as she grew from a Silver Crescent to a half-full orb....
Through one of the Skylights in the Living Room.. |
And....I HAD to include a few photos from the Opera Rehearsals I attended...
Susanna Phillips as Countess Almaviva in *The Marriage of Figaro*. |
Moi....during a break in the *Figaro*rehearsal.. |
Famed Mezzo, Susan Graham (second from the left) with a stellar cast in *The Grand Duchess of Gerolstein*. |
The splendid, outdoors, Santa Fe Opera!
Chris and I took a drive up another 1,000 feet to see part of the Santa Fe Forest... (brought us to almost 9,000 feet)!
We had lunch at one of my favourite restaurants..the Coyote Cantina..
I hope I didn't overwhelm you with all of these photos... but I wanted to share one of the happiest times I have had in four years!
Con Amore,
♥ La Robina ♥
I remember the area fondly. Camping in the Sangre de Cristo for the first time one July, I nearly froze because I didn't know there places that far South where it was that cold in July. Go back a few posts to my post about Jizo (I thought of you while writing it). You'll like it as you might the one before it.
ReplyDeleteDear Snow, oooh....I can scarcely imagine a cold July in the Sangre de Cristos....but, I know it happens...
DeleteI DID read those posts of yours..and commented... I liked them both. So very happy we have met and are friends!
Love,
♥ Robin ♥
Robin, Santa Fe is what--over six thousand, with the mtns going up from there? I should think that frosty mornings would be a regular feature, but, being from Mississippi and never have been in mtns higher than 3,000 feet, we were clueless about what to expect. BTW, some Arizona fellow had to be rescued in the local mtns here yesterday. He had planned to hike to California on the Pacific Crest Trail, but he only got ten miles before the cold stopped him.
Deletewhat a lovely post. first question...is BF for Best Friend or the other BF???
ReplyDeleteyou look beautiful and happy.
I have never been to that city, and would SO love to go someday.
lovely post
Mim...a-ha-ha..BF stands for the *other BF*... after our horrible breakup, both of us thought we would NEVER try again.... but, well..there you go.... who can understand how the ♥ functions!
DeleteYOU would adore Santa Fe!!!!
Love, and....welcome home,

OOOOoooooo, La Robina!!! I LOVE! The first two shots were gasp worth, causing a little wine to pass into my nasal cavity. Totally worth it! I am so so happy to hear that you had The Best Time. BF??? I don't know...you look pretty darn sexy in that last photo! Oh, yes, same question as Mim above.
ReplyDelete**blows kisses**
Deb

Happiness seeps through every word, photo and video on this post Robin and I am so SO glad!!!! You are a special person you know and you deserve every moment of happiness in your life. Big HUGE hug from over the pond. Oh and that opera house looks amazing! xx Jos
ReplyDeleteJos, it has been a while since I was so happy...one sometimes gets used to being marginally happy, but when it returns, in full force... ah, well... it's the best feeling...
DeleteYou would adore this incredible Opera House, high on a hill with the Sangre de Cristos (Blood of Christ) Mountains all around. Often, during rehearsals and performances, one sees Lightning off in the distance...
Thank you for your sweet and loving words.... they truly mean a lot to me. While I was at St. Francis Church, I lit a row of candles for everyone and said many prayers - including one for you - and your Mum...(I believe those who have passed still benefit from prayer..)
Love and Strength, wonderful Jos!
