Fifty Days of Grey

Well, perhaps not FIFTY....but getting very close to it...  a particularly brutal *Mini-Winter* for this girl...imagine waking up to grey.....24/7... no Sun, no Moon, no Stars.....just grey....

Mr. Pelican *Races* a Ferry Boat.  In the far distance, you will see some BLUE..yes, across any of the Bridges, it's 10-20 degrees warmer.

Still, it's especially wonderful to see something bright growing right at the edge of the water..

Even *my* Mockingbird's spirit is down...he doesn't sing as much...

Baby Grebes with Papa...

A *fiery* Dahlia brings warmth....  at least to the eye!

A wonderful name for a boat!

But nothing beats the real thing!  The Cygnets are now two months old!

An unusual mushroom...lovely looking - rather like a fan!

During my hike yesterday, I was delighted to photograph Mr. Hawk, soaring right up and out over the Pacific....

NO SUN forecasted for (at least) another week....  please send me some!
A-ha-ha!

♥Love, a cold  and somewhat sad Robin♥

  1. Oh wow.. that's sad never to see the Sun. we have been to hot so its cooled off with some gray mornings which is nice for a change but we do see some sun. Below us tho is a major fire and its pushing thick smoke into lower counties and making it miserable for them. Do I guess you could say its better to be gray for fog then for smoke. Love the cygnets. Oh and that Dahlia.. wow. Maybe you need a trip inland for a couple days. :)

    1. Hi Cris... some of *your fiery smoke* actually made it's way down to us... and yes, better a Foggy Grey than a Smokey One.

I am taking your advice and heading up to Santa Rosa next week for some Sunshine and Warmth!

Love to ALL....including that fabulous Chicken-Blogger!

  3. It's amazing that we have so much sun and you are so grey! Odd. Oh well, you get the points in the winter with no snow!

  4. Cute title. Did you read those books? I didnt.

Like your color theme though. Something romantic about the grey, from here anyway.

    1. Suki, no I didn't read those either...not *my thing*...but I thought the play on words was cute - and apt! Since I posted this, we have had a total of perhaps 10 hours of sun....(and not consecutive, either..) Sigh...

Fog CAN be romantic - but not for so many days on end....

      Love to you and Bibs,

  6. I thought I commented here, but it's gone. I saw "Born to Kill" last night. It's an excellent film noir from 1947 and was filmed most in San Francisco. In one of the shots, the ferry was passing under the bay bridge going west in a close up shot, but when the camera seemed to pull back for a distance shot, the ferry was going east.

    1. P.S. The reason the Bay Bridge has been used so much in movies is that the city is more apparent i in the background than it would be from the Golden Gate.
