Santa Fe 2014

Ah.....Santa Fe....what can I possibly say that I haven't before?  Except, this trip was close to perfect....

Santa Fe Clouds

Chris and I were fortunate to have the same beautiful house we had last year....away from the City, with the Sangre de Christo Mountains as our *backdrop..

Our beautiful, magical Gazebo..where we often cooked and ate outside..

*Chef Christopher*

When we didn't go out to eat, I was blessed to have a man who LOVES to cook....and is a truly great one!  It was lovely to be spoiled .....the only thing I ever did was make coffee in the Morning!

We did have one Storm with Thunder and Lightning!

But, in half an hour, it had departed and the Sun returned!

Chris was busy preparing for Santa Fe Opera.  He had five Operas to do Supertitles for...translating from French, Italian and (a first) Chinese!

Of course, we did go out for lunch, dinner and driving through the spectacular country side...

Lunch at one of our favourite spots....Chimayo

Prickly Pear Cocktails....yummy!

Some of the gorgeous scenery driving back from Chimayo....

Beautiful....BUT, I know you are waiting for some of my *Critter Photos!

Lizards

Bunnies

Even a Hummingbird!

And....of course, Ravens!

A gigantic.....who knows what!

Mr. Stinkbug strolls around...

La Bella Luna
The Moon rose particularly late - so this was the ONLY Moon Photo I took!

Blooming Cactus.....everywhere!

And.....Operas!  (You didn't think I would post about this, did you?  A-ha-ha!)

The 2014 Season

During the Day.....doesn't it resemble a Tanker Ship?

Nighttime

Final Dress Rehearsal for *Carmen*

Here's what Chris does for a living.....all his translations for every Opera appear on this screen.  The Metropolitan Opera in New York has the same system.

Nothing is as gorgeous as the Santa Fe *Violet Hour* as the Operas begin...

A panoramic view of the Opera House as Opening Night begins!

And here we are, all dressed up on Opening Night for *Carmen*!

Whew... a lot of photos....(and I took even more)!  I hope you enjoyed visiting Santa Fe with me!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

  1. I'm glad to see that your accident has pinned you down for long. I'm also I'm amazed that a town as small as Santa Fe has an opera.

  2. Snow!!! Lovely to hear from you! Trust me, I am still recovering from my burns (and probably will be for eons!) But, one must go on... as your Peggy is your strength, Chris is mine. Santa Fe Opera is actually world renown!

  3. Robin!!! So happy to see this post of your trip to Sante Fe - you look so happy and relaxed which is well deserved after all you've been through recently!!

The photo of the sunset at the opera is amazing - what a dual treat to see that as you await the opening notes of Carmen!

I guess Bofie wasn't there? Saw the drinks but did you get your favorite margaritas?

    Welcome home traveler!

    xoxo

  4. Dear *Twin*...I had a wonderful, magical time...now, back to foggy SF and away from Chris, I would be lying if I said it is a bit of a letdown! Bofie, my beloved, did not make the trip from NY to NM.. he didn't last year either...the drive is too rough for him (he's 13).. so he stays with his *Step-Mum* - Chris' ex in NY. We are all *(finally) comfortable with each other... as for the Margaritas....Chris is the BEST drinkmeister.... and I enjoyed several! Ole! Off to visit your blog NOW!

    Love,

    1. Hi Cris....yes, it is sad the *Old Days* of Blogging are no more... I am on FB a lot - so many friends in Europe and on the East Coast - it is easier to stay in touch. I am doing much better...coming to terms with the fact I will never be as I once was.... but you know, I don't care... A-ha-ha ....those Bugs! I didn't mind them at all....but there were some spiders inside our house....who scared me....not tarantulas...but still big enough...

Love visiting your blog...give everyone a big hug and kiss from me! I hope to reunite with Bofie and Chris in October...for my birthday.

      Love, always,

      ♥ Robin ♥

    1. Dear *Ring*...I hope you can attend the Opera here....it really, truly is a magical experience...with a first rate Orchestra, Chorus and Principal Singers! Greer Grimsley is currently in *Fidelio*....he will be returning to San Francisco Opera next year as Han Sachs!
