"This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affectations glow and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at any moment we may see the unicorn."

Farewell to Tut

Today was the final day of the "King Tut" Exhibit at the de Young Museum. It was sold out and really was an "insane day". In honour of the "Boy King's" stay in San Francisco, I am sharing a little bit of "Egyptian Opera", courtesy of Giuseppi Verdi (an Italian). He wrote "Aida" to commemorate the opening of the Suez Canal. Even if you are not an Opera lover - I am sure you will recognise this music. Enjoy ♥ Robin

    indeed! how inspirational!

i am not a fan of opera--i saw madam butterfly last year, however, and i loved it, so there may be hope for me, but this was very very lovely.

  4. Anne - too funny - what a word - especially for you!

KJ - if you like Madama Butterfly, then you are a fan of at least one opera! And that one is so moving.....

Glad you enjoyed my little vignette!

    ♥ to you both,

    Robin

  6. Lo, yes, I am slowly getting this blog put together...I am glad you like my header.

Yup - most of those "Egyptians" didn't look too fit... (the perils of "live opera")! However, I was impressed with the trumpet players - it'a always risky to play right on the stage - in costume - showing one's knees...

    Love,
