"Ho-Jo-To-Ho! My Life......Wagner's Life.....My Life..

Okay, I KNOW I am asking for a lot of understanding.... this is the world of Opera...not something most of you, my "blogging family" likes - or even understands.... but, nontheless, I am going to share with you. If you watch these clips, you will see the "Stars" of SF Opera's "Die Walkure" talk about what makes their "chacter" LIVE ..

This is probably not going to make sense to most of you.....but this IS my passion....and perhaps it will reach a few .....

The last video was shot (not by me) illicitly...from the SF Opera Grand Tier....probably from a cell phone (hence the shaky footage)....but, it conveys (for real - no rehearsal) the opening scene of ACT II where Wotan greets his favourite daughter, Brunnhilde. Yes, it is a "Board Room" and yes, "Valhalla' does seem a bit like NYC....and yes, they are in 20th century clothes....but, oh, the voices. the voices...even on a poor recording.....the orchestra.... trust me, this was 'greatness"....

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

  1. Ha ha, no comments!! Gosh I just love it. I have never seen 'The Ring'. Whenever my father got tickets for it, my mum always pinched those! One day I will see it.

  2. Dear Robin,

What's important here is thet you HAVE a passion even though it may not be the same as the next person's passion. I got through 2 1/2 videos, honestly. I can appreciate the art and love of opera, but I can't take more than 5 minutes of a soprano singing. It goes right through me. I can give kudos and awes regarding their talent but I can't sit still when they sing.
Now male singers...tenors? I love it! But the women drive me away for some reason.

I love that you have posted these, and again, I love that you have such a deep passion for opera and you wear it proudly!

On another note, sure wish you could have been part of the luncheon today. What a sweet, relaxing afternoon. KJ even behaved herself ;P

    Love (and sunshine) to you!!

    Lo♥

  3. I loved all of it and if I had some spare passion, (sorry my art and art in general take up most of my passion cells)I could be passionate about Opera. Love you.xoxo
