"This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affectations glow and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at any moment we may see the unicorn."

*Attila*

Today was our final production of *Attila*!

Here are some of the best parts of this *early-Verdi* opera.....Ferruccio Furlanetto as *Attila* and some of the wonderful *Huns*.  Oooh....love their costumes - especially the hats!

Hmm.....think I must try one on!  A-ha-ha!

The Huns' *Sworn Enemies*....the Romans!

We borrowed this rather silly production from La Scala Opera.... Here, the Romans have just finished demolishing what appears to be the original La Scala Opera House of the 19th Century... don't ask why.......it's OPERA!

The Pope - aka Samuel Ramey - a true Opera Superstar!  (Of course he is posing with some of the Italian Courtesans!)

But, don't you think I wear his hat well?

Oh.....those Huns......raping, pillaging, causing fear wherever they go..........waaaaaaaa!

So....one Summer Opera done.....two more to go.... Tuesday will be the final *Nixon in China*....by far, my Summer Favourite....  and next Sunday, the final *Magic Flute*....

I hope these photos made you smile!!!

Love,

*Pope Robin*

  2. Fun pix. I looked at the one with the over grown crown on your head and imminently thought of that Margarine commercial years ago with the actress taking a bite of bread with the margarine on it and a horn played and a large crown popped on the gals head. LOL. I think I watch to much TV.LOL
