A Cold *Mini-Winter* Day with Warm, Wonderful Friends!

Yesterday, I met another fellow Blogger - Britt-Arnhild, her husband Terje, their daughter Marta and three fellow Americans who were hosting these wonderful people from Norway, Jane, Lanny and Maddy. I *met* Britt through Suki - what a small and wonderful world it is!    You may find Britt-Arnhild's wonderful blog here..http://brittarnhildshouseinthewoods.typepad.com

We had one day to see *everything* in San Francisco - so although the day was grey and very cold....(*Mini-Winter* for those who read me regularly), we set off!

First stop - the Palace of Fine Arts. Britt is a consummate photographer, so I knew she would appreciate the history and beauty here.

Amazing - and wonderful to finally meet!

Photographing the Photographer!

Then, off to Crissy Field and the Fog-Shrouded Golden Gate!

It WAS cold - we stopped at the Warming Hut for Lattes and Hot Chocolate - and sweatshirts!   Brrr...

Marta and Maddy

Off to Lunch at *Liverpool Lils*.....I wanted my friends to sample some typical SF food - away from tourists!

Surprise!  Emily V.V. Rabbit appeared!  She just shows up everywhere!

Next Stop - a ride on the Cable Car!  (I hadn't been on one in years!)   We had to wait in a LONG queue...but eventually, boarded and everyone had a great time riding up and down those hills!

Britt and Marta....(Terje in the background)

Woo-Hoo!

The *clock was ticking*...we had to make it to Pier 33 to get our boat for....Alcatraz!  (Somewhere I have NEVER visited in all my SF days!)

On *The Rock*.....Looking out at Angel Island.....
Alcatraz Tales......to be continued....tomorrow!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

How wonderful that palace of fine art seems! And so nice that you saw some new sites of your own town.
    Will watch Alcatraz tomorrow!

  5. Oh my gosh.. You need to work for SF's chamber of commerce as the tour guide who can show off most of SF's Charm in 24 hours or less. :)) Its fun meeting up with fellow bloggers. You even got to see something you have never seen before. I love seeing my area thru others eyes.

  6. so awesome that you got to meet and tour the city - wow! love it. I loved visiting alcatraz and had the same impression that you did - how bleak and sad and lonely out there.
    you're a great tour guide!
