Animal Wednesday - Andalusian Horses

One thing I have not yet told you all is that my FAVOURITE animal is a ....Horse.

I have been in love with these magnificent creatures since I was a child. In fact, when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I told the Nuns - "A Horse"!

My Father rode and started me out at 6.....and I took to it like I took to Opera (and baseball). We had many a wonderful day riding.... I love to ride - it is one of the few "sports" I ever exceled at.

I love all breeds of horses....but the Andalusian is one of my most beloved.... they originate from the southern section of Spain...Andalusia...hence the name. They are beautiful, graceful and intelligent.

Enjoy this video! HAW to all!

Love,

  2. I'm going to watch this video in just a minute, but I was wondering if you ever saw the interview or documentary about a certain musician and his wonderful Andalusians? It was breathtaking!
I love these horses too. If I could, I'd buy you one ;)

  6. Hia Robyn, for some reason blogger doesn't tell me of your updates so I have missed a load. Sorry.

My first animal love was a dog I used to copy when I was a baby. Once I could walk it was horses. There was a 13 acres field of them at the bottom of the garden, so I hung out there. Lovely animals.

  7. Dear Robin,
i have the same problem with Blogger too, i've solved it by going to my dashboard where all the blogs are that i follow, i click on yours and it says something like it doesn't recognize the blog, but at the same time there is a link that leads me here! so strange.

Your love of horses is infectious, even though they kind of scare me, i like them in this video!

Have a wonderful weekend (a safe one too)

  9. Lori - my "Blogger Problem" seems to reflect all that has happened to me this past year!

Thank you for seeking me out!

Horses are really lovely gentle creatures....but, like all animals, they sense one's fear and sometimes act accordingly!

    Happy 4th!

    Love,

    ♥ Robin ♥

  10. You must really like the scene in "Jewel in the Crown" in which Sarah Layton and her father ride through the hills of India upon his return from the war... lovely to imagine you and your Papa riding together!

  11. Blogger is having the vapors! Hello my dear, I tried twice to leave a comment and was abruptly thrown out, the boor! But persistence is my third name and here I am to tell you I love Andalusian horses. As well as Carthusians which I used to ride in Santander while visiting my Mother's family. They are the most beautiful horses in the world, second to none and known in Spain as the Kings horses. They are incredibly intelligent and of course, I wanted to take mine home with me. And of course, I couldn't.

You and I have so many loves in common! I so wish you could just come and sit with me outside as the weather promises to be better this weekend. We could talk Opera, horses, dogs and cats, flowers, I am sure we won't run out of things to enjoy together. Have a nice, warm and sunny weekend and know that I am thinking of you and sending you love.
