"This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affectations glow and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at any moment we may see the unicorn."

A Semi-Sunny Walk

Hello All..... yes, it's me...thawing out a bit from our prolonged cold and dreary Spring-Summer.

I am still struggling with this irritating ear problem....but I am now (finally) taking some decongestitants that I found in my medicine cabinet - and they seem to be helping.
I did take a brief walk from my house to the outskirts of the Presidio (where I do a lot of running/hiking) yesterday....so come along and enjoy the (gasp) sunshine!

If you look closely at the photo above - you can just see part of SF Bay....

Yes, some of the San Francisco HILLS! Must hike up this one to reach the entrance to the Presidio!

You can see the poor trees are still confused about the months of cold weather...they are usually much greener and lush by the end of June.

But these lovely beauties "greeted" me enroute home... a nice way to end my hike. Thank you for walking with me!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

  2. Great shots, Robin. That third one looks like it could be straight out of Hitchcock's Vertigo!

  3. i love the huddles cypress trees, trying to ward off the chilly fog. I actually tried blowing on the photos to push the fog away!
(Not really, but I wanted to.)

You're lucky to live near the Presidio. What a great place to walk abd 'be.'

Happy Tuesday...and Yay for the ear getting some relief!

  4. thanks for the delightful walk and I am not even out of breath which I think in reality I would be with all the hills. I saw an HGTV show of a couple buying a condo in SF. You get to see their 3 choices. In the Mission district. One oldie very nice. All very nice really. Only the low 500's. :) Oh well. It was fun to see them.

  6. It is good to see the sunshine, here it comes and goes. Today is my first day to be able to write and my very first visit was to be here.
Thank you for the lovely card, as beautiful as you are. I posted a little note on my blog to let everyone know what is happening. I am still a bit out of it, but slowly coming home. Much love to you, my dear.

  8. Willow - thank you for the compliment! "Vertigo" just happens to be my favourite Hitchcock movie....and not just because it was (partially) filmed here.

Yes, the Cypresses feel like me....brrr...enough already! I AM lucky to live so close to the Presidio....it has provided a lot of comfort for me to walk and reflect - and look at nature...

Thinking of you today and tomorrow!

  10. Suki, hello there! Ah, SF is one of (if not THE most) expensive places in the States to live these days.... lovely to be sure....but life here is as they say in England "quite dear".

Glad you went "walking with me" today!

Especially here! I see your wave and smile!

I don't know why I don't come up automatically on the links.....everone tells me the same thing. Willow offered some suggestions - but I had already done them.... I am guessing there may another blog "out there" with the same name - and Blogger is confused. Guess you will just have to keep searching for me....
