"This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affectations glow and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at any moment we may see the unicorn."

Animal Wednesday "Deck the Halls" - as you've never heard it done - And...Claude, the Albino Alligator !

Opera Season is over....and I am now dashing into full "Holiday Mode"........  and so are these little ones!

I spent part of my day at San Francisco's Academy of Science....where Claude, the Albino Alligator (complete with pink eyes) resides in roomy splendour with a large Snapping Turtle.  One wouldn't think they would co-exist in peace - but they do!

HAPPY ANIMAL WEDNESDAY!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

  2. Oh my, how I enjoyed that!!!!!
I'm still smiling! Where do you find these?

Claude is beautiful, almost fake looking, really. How nice he and the tortoise get along "swimmingly."

    I'm calling you soon :)

  4. I would guess that they either don't like the taste of each other, or else they haven't figured out just how to eat one another. Either way, I somehow wouldn't have expected them to prey on one another.

  8. Dearest "BS",
yep....Claud does look "fake' - even his gater claws are snow white...but he raised his head up when I appeared and gazed "pinkishly" at me!

He is wonderful - as is Mr. Snapper-turtle!

  9. Babs, hello! Claude is truly a gem...... and just think, if he was still living in the wild, - well, he wouldn't be living....he would be a pair of shoes and matching handbag....

    Hugs to you!

  23. "KJB".... you made me laugh this morning!!!!!

Oui, oui - Claude is quite real! (And quite large - over 9 feet long!) I was looking directly down at him - so his true dimensions don't show.....and he actually swam over to where I was! He was very alert that day - and lifted his head to look up at me with those pink eyes..... he's a cutie! (But I would hesitate to go swimming with him!)

    Love,
