Meet Dusty - aka "Klepto Cat"

I am late again doing an Animal Wednesday post....but, I was busy last week!  I HAD to share this with you all....  meet Dusty - a Peninsula Cat....who is a REAL "Cat Burgler"....... Dusty's fame has grown throughout the Bay Area - in fact, he will be the "Grand Marshall" at Redwood City's Pet Parade.  And.....an auction will be held for people to purchase some of Dusty's unclaimed "finds".  All proceeds will go to the local animal shelter! ENJOY!

Meow!

Love,

  1. This is another good reason to have an indoor-only cat. If I were Dusty's person, I would fear for his safety.

  3. Snow.....hello there! I have missed you!
Yes, I do agree...I believe that Cats SHOULD be indoor pets! (How I wish I could bring my six ferals inside!) But, some kitties CRAVE the outdoors....and Dusty is one! He has become an "instant celebrity" - and to me, much more deserving than Charlie Sheen!

Love to you, Peggy and Brewsky!

  4. Suki, I assure you this is NOT a set-up! This was on our local news a few months ago....and it has spiraled into Viral Video! Dusty loves to "steal"..... and now, he is enjoying his 15 minutes of fame! And.....everyone in his neighbourhood NOW KNOWS where to go to get their items back!

    MEOW!

    Love,

  5. I love this vid! that cat is hysterical, and so cat like with his stealing. I wonder why he really does it? Nesting instincts? A jaybird in another life?
    Great AW Robyn!

  6. I remember this story! I don't know if you noticed his low howling as he was carrying things in his mouth. So hunter like! That's what Bliss does every night as she moves all 14"babies!"
Great video! And I also clicked on Joey the news cat. Such fun!

  7. Hi Mim! Who knows why Dusty does this? Perhaps to "impress" his Mum? I laughed out loud when I saw the video on our local news channel! He's wonderful! And I am glad the neighbours are all "ok" with it. (At least they know where to look if something is missing!)

  8. Dear BS,
YES....I did hear Dusty's low howling.... there MUST be something that makes him and Bliss do this! It is strange - but - wonderful!

p.s. Joey the "News Cat" was hysterical!
I particularly liked when he jumped on the News Broadcasters' Desk - during a broadcast!
