"This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affectations glow and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at any moment we may see the unicorn."

One Year Ago...March 9th

A rare and special person left her beloved families (her real family and her blogging family) and went to a land of eternal peace and love - to be greeted by her parents, her courageous nephew, Sheldon -   and just last month, she greeted her sister Jacquie.

She was (and still is) one of those rare people who is known by one name....  Renee.

Most of you who visit my Blog knew her - knew of her extraordinary ability to LOVE, her wicked sense of humour, her inate intelligence.  In her darkest, most pain-filled days, she could still give of herself - offering advice, guidance and sending strength to us all.  Renee TRULY was one in a trillion.

The picture of Alice and the Jabberwocky above was a part of Renee's blog for as long as I followed it.  When it looked like Renee was beginning to fail,
copied it (without asking) to have a visual momento of something that reminded me of her.  It's so perfectly Renee.... she never lost her child-like gift of wonder, she believed in a magical world and she knew Life was meant to be lived to the fullest.

I only knew her a short while - yet without her - I would not have met most of you....she was my Muse....the one who encouraged me to begin a blog....she gave me inspiration, she gave me hope....

So, to celebrate Renee's life on Earth, I leave you with a few words from some brilliant writers.

"He was part of my dream, of course - but then I was part of his dream too".   (Lewis Carroll)

" And it is this star, for ever unattained yet forever sought, that shines through all great poetry, through all great music, painting, building, and works of men, through all noble deeds, loves, speculations, endurings and endeavours, and all the splendours of "earth and the deep sky's ornament" since history began, and that gives (at moments, shining through) divine perfection to some little living thing."
(E.R. Edison)

Renee, I love you and I miss you....but a part of you still lives within my heart.  I love you " to the Moon and back".

Always,

♥ Robin ♥

  1. Oh Robin, this is a most fitting, heartfelt tribute. If you don't mind, I'd just like to say a big "Ditto!!" here and send kisses to the sky. She was my Raven Sister, and we were to have talked on the phone the night before she went into the hospital. It never happened. But what did happen was an amazing friendship/sisterhood/kinship with someone I never met in the flesh, but I knew her in my heart.♥

Thank you, dear LS (Little Sister for those of you who wonder.) This is a lovely, lovely post.

    xoxo
    Love you~
    BS (big sister) Lo♥

  2. Robin, What a lovely tribute to our friend. :) Consider yourself hugged big time. Somehow, I think Renee is smiling at us, and happy that we are all taking the time to remember her, and to be friends. xox!! Pam

  3. She will never truly leave, she cannot leave because true love becomes a part of us like another layer of skin.

I miss her something fierce some times, and others, particularly when I am doing something that it reminds me of her, I feel her presence, real and near, as it was then.

I am grateful beyond words for the gift of your friendship that came as another knot she tied among her people to keep them together.
I met you through her, she knew who would be good for each other and she was never wrong.

I am sure she is teaching angels how to swear and how to smile and how to love just to the Moon and back. And she will walk among us, just as invisible as once she did through her blog and we will all be better because of that. Much love from both of us.

Lovely post Robin and I must just say that now I have another reason to be thankful to Renee as I didn't know that it was she who encouraged you to blog. I'm glad to know you Robin. Warmest hugs to you xx Jos
