I had chosen to do another post for today's "Animal Wednesday" - a dog-related one, but decided to use this instead. A dear friend is going through a rather stressful time with her dog, so I opted for this...... because it's funny...and laughter is healthy and healing! It's another Operatic vignette....but it made me laugh! And....I hope you do too! Some of you may recognise the conclusion of "Turandot" reprising the aria made famous by Lucianno Pavarotti...this version, however, is really "special"!
Love,

I did get a chuckle out of those dear kitties amidst the dramatic aria
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely music and hilarious cats! Thanks for the laugh.

ReplyDeleteThis is way too adorable and funny at the same time. When Colette gets back upstairs - she is giving the puppies McKenzie and Alliah a run for their money, she sits at the foot of the stairs and neither one of them go by for either love or money, she is still the Duchess and they are to her eyes, The Interlopers. After two years come May you would think she would have gotten over. Nope. Not a chance she will ever do that, and the poor puppies are dying to play with her. Anyway when she gets tired of making them miserable I will bring her by my laptop and see what she thinks. Thank you for the smile, and hugs from here to you.
ReplyDeletePS: Yes, I have been thinking about Stella all day. I am going to light a candle to Quanyin to ask Her to see Stella through her surgery and to bring her back as good as new.
Suki, I am glad the "Singers" made you laugh!
ReplyDeleteAngela, this was hysterical..... I laughed out loud the first time I saw it!
Annie, see, even on my blog, I am still having you view Operas with me! A-ha-ha!
Allegra, thank you for sharing stories of 'The Duchess" Colette (what a perfect name for her), McKenzie and Alliah..... sounds like an opera could be written about their relationship!
Love to you all, keep Stella in your prayers.

ReplyDeletenow i'll go look at the video!
take care!
lori
robin, this is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI think I would love to go to an opera but I'm not at all fond of soprano voices. Are they always female? Anyway, it's the women's voices that tend to put me over the top. (The screaming, etc.)
Now give me Andrea Bocelli and I'm in heaven, although to a true opera buff he's really not in the same ballpark, right?
Anyway, I do enjoy your posts very much! Perhaps I'll be a convert (to opera) before long ;)

p.s. Hope you like the video.....if you read some of my posts, you will see Opera is one of my biggest passions! (But, I am able to laugh at it too..)
Dear Lo - you made me laugh so much! I KNOW Opera is not many people's "Cup of Tea".... my Mother loved it (my Father did not) - I was taken to my first opera at 8 years old, my first Wagner opera a 10.....I LOVED IT! Go figure.... but it "speaks" to me.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Soprano voice - it is nearly 99% female.... back in Renaissance times, young boy singers were castrated before puberty - to keep the purity of their high voices.... they were called "Castratos"....(OUCH!) Today there are some men with unusually high voices. They are referred to as "Counter Tenors".... There are some really beautiful (non-shreiky) Soprano voices out there - one of them being Christine Brewer, the singer I saw a few weeks back. Nothing beats a GREAT Tenor voice though.... for passion and emotion!
Andrea Bocelli? He's okay - but more like a "Minor Leaguer" - in my opinion. But, most importantly, if he gets you to listen to a few arias, it's wonderful! Opera, IF (And that's a huge "IF") it is done well - can be a masterful and enticing experience...
