"This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affectations glow and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at any moment we may see the unicorn."

Animal Wednesday - Listen to the Mockingbird

I know it really MUST be Spring (although it is still only in the 50's) because my wonderful Mockingbird has returned. He (or she) has been a Springtime resident on my street for about five years. He has quite a varied repertoire of songs - and it keeps growing! The only downside (and it is teeny), he loves to begin his daily "concerts" around 3:00 a.m.! (Usually right outside my bedroom window.) He makes me smile though - and his clear, bright voice enriches every day. Welcome Back!
Love to all,
♥ Robin ♥

  5. I love Mockingbirds! If only they knew how to tell time, or more importantly, if only they were on our same schedule ;)

I know the raw cold of SF Robin. When I lived in Monterey I would find myself getting grouchy with the temps in the 40's and 50's in the summer. Oh, that fog. Still, it was one of the most beautiful, magical places I've ever had the priveledge of living in.
    Happy Spring!

    ((♥))

  6. Joss, yes, I AM lucky... he's a joy! Although he began today's concert at 1:00 a.m.!
He is right outside now - celebrating sunrise!
Wish I could record him and share with you.

    Hugs,

  8. Lo, I guessed you could relate to the chilly N. Cal. climes.... people who come to visit (particularly in Summer) are always shocked at the fog and wind. They think S. Cal's weather is the same for the whole state! Ha-ha! I refer to the Summer moths as "The Mini-Winter"!
It is, though, as you say, BEAUTIFUL! (And all the dampness is good for one's complexion!)

    Love your latest "Blue" Project!

    And, love you too!

  10. Welcome back Birdie! What a great picture you took, it looks like Birdie was posing calmly for you (and that doesn't surprise me one bit). Someone besides me has to be up and singing at 3am, ha ha!

  13. lovely that he returns to your window. Gosh, I again missed this post and the next one. I typed your blog address into my listing, but somehow still didnt get it on my blogroll. Nothing you can do, it must be some sort of glitch in the program.
