Animal Wednesday - White Heron and....*Turandot*
Keeping with Mim's White Heron theme...here is a lovely, close-up view of one - from Florida!
No *AW live photos* from me this week because I am here:
Our Autumn Season rehearsals have begun.... first up, Puccini's "Turandot" - with this gorgeous set, designed by David Hockney.
Happy Animal Wednesday, one and all! I think about where everyone is....today, we are scattered all round the world.... yet we are bound by our love of animals!!!! Isn't is glorious!
Love,
♥ Robin ♥

ReplyDeleteHappy Animal Wednesday to you too, Robin, although it is now Thursday.
ReplyDeleteLittle Sista!!! Back in the land of opera which is so good for you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a striking set...and of course I love snowy egrets. So regal!
I fell asleep on the couch tonight at 5:30! hahaha, what an old lady.
Waiting for hurricane Irene to possibly land here by Sunday. We'll talk soon. At the very least we expect to lose power.
Miss you!
xoxo
love,
Big sista!♥
They are such gorgeous big birds! and my goodness...that stage set is really something. the colors! wow.
ReplyDeleteso think of us this weekend, we'll be getting drenched - and hopefully that's all.
Teri...Egrets are gorgeous, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI never get tired of watching them....
Hugs to you and a kiss for Sunshine!
♥ Robin ♥
Suki, this is particularly stunning set....you would love it - and the opera too. I will try and post more photos soon.
ReplyDeleteToday, first rehearsal for a NEW Opera, "Heart of a Soldier", a true story of a man who survived Vietnam - only to lose his life in one of the Twin Towers on 9/11. Sounds grim, I know...but it stars Thomas Hampson - one of the most intelligent (and handsome) Baritones in the world...and Francesca Zambello (who directed our *Ring* so brilliantly) is directing... I have high hopes!
I hope you will be safe over the weekend and that by the time *Irene* reaches you, it will be just rain...and nothing more.
Love to you and Bibs,
♥ Robin ♥
Hey Snow....you are TOO funny!!!!! I hope life "up North" is going well for you, Peggy, Blue and Brewsky!
ReplyDeleteHugs to all,
♥ Robin ♥
LS.... I am sure this week has been hard... but...you are almost there! I am at the Opera till late tonight...but let's try for tomorrow...(Saturday)...I should be home before 8 - your time. I am saying prayers *Irene* travels out into the Atlantic and only leaves you rain....
ReplyDeleteLove to all,
♥ LS ♥
Mim.....yes, Hockney's set colours are so vivid - they are almost *electric*!
ReplyDeleteYou know I am praying that you only have rain....and that no trees topple... stay safe!
Love,
♥ Robin ♥
The colours on the stage are electrifying. Think of you often, hope all is going smoothly.
ReplyDeleteI love these Great White Egrets that also grace our little lake Irma - they are great fishermen and I love to watch them stalk their prey!
ReplyDeleteOpera life seems so exciting and vibrant...I always enjoyed live performances and hope to maybe one day be able to do that again... there's just nothing like the stage!
Gizzy says "Hello Auntie Robin" (hugs)
Heh....I left a comment here earlier this week. But it must have got lost in cyber space.
