It's Animal Wednesday - and...I have some cuties for you!
Does anyone know what kind of Duck this is? He is not typical for SF... |
Coots! They are plentiful in Winter...and followed me everywhere in the hopes I had food! I did! And, of course, I shared! |
Mr. Squirrel says, "Thank you for this peanut, but I am saving it for a rainy day"! |
"No one will find it now....a-ha-ha!" |
A Muscovy - one of my favourites! |
Another Muscovy! Look at those feet! |
Most of the Geese have left...but I found this *Gaggle* on parade the other day. |
Meet Charlie - one of the BIGGEST Ravens I have ever met! He is so smart - and you should hear his *CAW*! I wish our Lo could meet him....but perhaps one day, she will paint him! |
My *Frog Prince*? On a personal note, I found out yesterday, my building has been sold and.....I can stay! Woo-Hoo! HAW! Love, ♥ Robin ♥ |
OH WONDERFUL NEWS!!! I would have put that in BIG LETTERS.. :)) Look how close that Raven is sitting next to that guy. Is it friendly? The closest I can come to that duck is a long tailed duck. They do like to winter over by harbors and oceans. Once again that is wonderful news on being able to stay.
ReplyDeleteOr it could be a male Northern Pintail. They have a brown head and long neck and mostly pale gray wings and like fresh water..sounds more like that. I am looking in my bird book.
ReplyDeleteHappy for you!!! You see all of a sudden life goes at a different direction and things are brightening up. So happy about my surprise schedule ;)
ReplyDeleteLovely animals dear!!!
Wow such diversity!
We have hoots here too and only in the winter they come in my garden as there is always food.
And Mr. Black PoD aka the chicken murderer isn't around any longer to chase them away;)
HAW ♥
I AM happy about your *surprise scheudule* too!
DeleteTherre really is a lot of *Wildlife* in SF...you just have to look for it!
I miss PoD* so much...miss his adventures.... even the *Chicken Murdering* ones.....
See you......(gasp)..SOON!
Love to all,
♥ Your SF Zuster ♥
GREAT NEWS Robin!!!! Your home is still your home.
ReplyDeleteThat duck is a Pintail, we have those in Wisconsin.
You and Lo must read the book, "Gift of The Crows" fascinating how intelligent crows and ravens are. I just finised it and now I'm on the lookout for a crow or raven to befriend. :)
You surely do have lots of wildlife for a big city.
HAW
Thank you Teri...your prayers helped for sure.
DeleteMr. Pintail must have stopped for a rest on his way North...he was at a Fresh Water Lake...
Lo and I will check out that book!
Love,
♥ Robin ♥
Robin, I believe that is a male Northern Pin Tail duck, a beauty!
ReplyDeleteLook him up on Google or Wikipedia :)
I'm so happy you have these wonderful places to walk. One day, I'll walk beside you! I don't know about the Lyon steps though! ahahahaha!
I'm thrilled about "no more Nora!!!!!"
Miss you,
Love,
Lo♥
Thnaks for the Pintail info!
DeleteYes, I am happy I have all these wonderful places to walk..they keep me *sane*...one day we WILL walk them together....and hey, we can do the Lyon Street Steps...just slowly....we can enjoy the views at each level.

ReplyDeleteThat first duck looks like a drawing/painting to me. I love that you see so many in SF!
ReplyDeleteExtra happy for you and your not having to move!
I remember years ago when my brothers apt. Building in SF was sold and he had to move. What a hassle! Glad you can stay!
