Animal Wednesday

It's Animal Wednesday - and...I have some cuties for you!

Does anyone know what kind of Duck this is?   He is not typical for SF...
Coots!  They are plentiful in Winter...and followed me everywhere in the hopes I had food!  I did!  And, of course, I shared!

Mr. Squirrel says, "Thank you for this peanut, but I am saving it for a  rainy day"!

"No one will find it now....a-ha-ha!"

A Muscovy - one of my favourites!

Another Muscovy! Look at those feet!

Most of the Geese have left...but I found this *Gaggle* on parade the other day.

Meet Charlie - one of the BIGGEST Ravens I have ever met! He is so  smart - and you should hear his *CAW*!  I wish our Lo could meet him....but perhaps one day, she will paint him!

My *Frog Prince*?

On a personal note, I found out yesterday, my building has been sold and.....I can stay!
Woo-Hoo!

HAW!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

  1. OH WONDERFUL NEWS!!! I would have put that in BIG LETTERS.. :)) Look how close that Raven is sitting next to that guy. Is it friendly? The closest I can come to that duck is a long tailed duck. They do like to winter over by harbors and oceans. Once again that is wonderful news on being able to stay.

  2. Or it could be a male Northern Pintail. They have a brown head and long neck and mostly pale gray wings and like fresh water..sounds more like that. I am looking in my bird book.

    Lovely animals dear!!!
    Wow such diversity!
We have hoots here too and only in the winter they come in my garden as there is always food.
And Mr. Black PoD aka the chicken murderer isn't around any longer to chase them away;)

  4. GREAT NEWS Robin!!!! Your home is still your home.
That duck is a Pintail, we have those in Wisconsin.
You and Lo must read the book, "Gift of The Crows" fascinating how intelligent crows and ravens are. I just finised it and now I'm on the lookout for a crow or raven to befriend. :)
You surely do have lots of wildlife for a big city.
